Adieu to summer

Today was the "last hurrah" at the Hook. We were there by 6:30, and there were already cars in the parking lot! It was truly a BEAUTIFUL end to an incredible summer. The beach was packed, the weather was perfect (82 and sunny), the waves were challenging, and no one got arrested. (No really, it happens a lot, I think mainly because some people don't know how to be appropriate.)
Craig and I listened to Howard, did the crossword, and soaked up the sunshine. We had cocktails, swam, toasted the wonderful summer we had, napped, swam some more, watched some people, napped, swam, and then we reluctantly packed up to face Labor Day traffic....and...we didn't hit ANY! The day couldn't have ended better.

Sigh....ahhh, the life of the single crowd w/no kids!
And how did I spend the last hurrah to summer? Slept until Vivi dragged me out of bed because I was sooooo tired from being on the computer until 3 am, took the kids to the playground (and in all fairness, that was nice) and then spent the rest of the afternoon downing coffee and trying not to fall asleep at the computer. Hmmm, who had more fun, I wonder?
Yo. Glad you got some rays in. Thanks for the words of encouragement!
