I hate Verizon.
I can not believe the substandard customer service that Verizon wireless offers. I have been engaged in an ongoing battle to have my broken phone issue resolved for literally a month now. A month ago the screen on my Samsung a670 phone began malfunctioning. I brought it to the dealer, and they had a "replacement phone" sent to my home. That phrase is key. A replacement phone, also referred to in the industry as a Field Replacement Unit or FRU phone, is a refurbished phone...a USED-once-broken-and-now-"fixed"-phone. I brought my "replacement" phone to the Verizon dealer. Unfortunately, there was something wrong with the sound on this phone. The rep told me to send the phone back, and another phone would be sent to my house. Sure enough, 2 days later, I received another "replacement phone". I brought the SECOND "replacement phone" back to the dealer (my 3rd visit). The rep downloaded the software to the replacement phone and sent me on my way. Allllllllright. All set. Or so I thought. Get the phone home, throw it on the charger and, ???, it's not holding a charge. Good grief. I go BACK to the Verizon dealer (trip 4) and explain that this is my second "replacement" phone and it's not holding a charge. The rep proceeded to inform me that it was my battery or my charger that was the problem, and that my battery was no longer under warranty. I stated that this wasn't the case. I hadn't had the problem with my old phone, my old phone held a charge. The rep expressed there was nothing he could do, short of having another "replacement" phone sent. Unacceptable. I asked to see a manager. I NEVER saw the manager. The rep came back and offered to sell me a battery at 1/2 price. I was exhausted from arguing so I just bought it. I get the 2nd phone home, WITH the NEW battery, plug it into the charger, and whadya know? It's STILL not holding a charge. I was FUMING! I called customer service and spoke to a woman who was very nice and seemed genuinely concerned. She sympathized with me and told me that I should absolutely get a new phone or, since I was having such problems with the Samsung, that the dealer should offer me a new phone that was comparable to the Samsung. GREAT!!! She told me she'd make a note in my account, and that if I had any problems, NOT to leave the store, and to call customer service from the store. Ok, trip 5. BACK to the dealer. Get to tech support, explain my situation, and they pull up my account. The rep tells me there is nothing noted in my account....WHAT???!!!Ok, I call customer service back from the store, as instructed, and the customer service rep on the other end of the line tells me that she can offer me either an early upgrade ($) or another "replacement" phone. I was like, "NO WAY, UNACCEPTABLE!!!" I argued with the rep, I asked for her name (SEVERAL TIMES)...she REFUSED to give me her name!!! She told me she would have her supervisor call me back. I said good luck trying to reach me on my broken phone. No supervisor ever called.
Tonight I called Verizon customer service again to get names of upper management...the President of the Northeast area, and everyone else I could CC. The rep asked me why, and I ended up recounting everything again. I know, I know....I'm a big sap. I didn't get addresses. She just seemed so helpful. She scheduled a follow up. She told me she noted my account and I would receive a NEW phone, not a FRU phone. I'm skeptical about what will happen. Verizon is notorious for poor customer service relations. What now? I think I will still write the letter.
BTW, the logo above is an actual website dedicated to all the people who have gotten screwed by this corporation. I liked the logo, so I'm plugging it.

VERIZON SUCKS! I hate them too and it kills me that Rich still uses them for his cell. I gave them the ax for our homeline. Such a huge company, overtaking everyone and they can't be bothered throwing us a bone with decent customer service? I had a bad experience too when they decided that both they and Spring should both charge me NJ tax for making a $12 directory assistance call for under 1 minute. Never mind about the argument of how they could justify $12 for a DA Call! The fact that it's just plain FRAUD for both companies (that work together when billing me, according to BOTH of them) to charge me the same sales tax...and they had great fun just ping-ponging me back and forth to eachother saying, "No, WE'RE supposed to collect the tax," "No WE'RE supposed to collect it."
I think they know they've got you and figure they will wear you down, much like they did to you. It's the man trying to bring us down!! don't stand for that...GET THOSE managers and rip 'em a new one!
I'm ALL over it...Dad got me the email addy to the PRESIDENT of verizonwireless, as well as the executive help desk. I'm having Judy proofread and spruce up the complaint letter that I'm sending Certified mail to the president.
Wireless providers are NOTORIOUSLY known for substandard customer service...something NEEDS to be done about that.

VERIZON IS THE WORST COMPANY IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICA. They have to force customers into staying with them by tricking them into contracts that they didnt even agree to. Then they argue with you when you try to get your point across. VERIZON SUCKS
U all think you hate Verizon?? Try working for the company. It is a sweatshop hellhole. The building is filthy ridden with rats, yes rats, and roaches. You will never call in and actually speak to a supervisor, as no such thing exists..you just get another voice. A rep that gets paid an extra dollar an hr to be spvsr! If you aren't at your desk and on a bathroom break longer than 4 minutes, they are on the walkie talkie looking for you. They have been going thru the termination process, trying to find anything at all to fire good people, who just need a paycheck and the health insurance. You know why your bills are so high, and always all messed up?? they throw random charges on peoples bills, hoping they won't "notice"...I myself had some and I worked there..They pay $20+ an hr for a call center job, that is practically unheard of here in Florida, and totally pay health insurance for the entire family. So people stay with a horrible unethical stressful lying company for the money and insurance. then in the end, you get terminated, or some are just driven to tears every single day, till they finally give up and quit, even after as much as 18 yrs of employment. They fire you and try to ruin your reputation for being hired by other companies. You just don't understand. I am glad to be rid of them, almost a year now. Oh, no, I wasn't gonna quit and make it easy for them. Let them fire me. Me and how many others, then the current head honcho that is firing ...he himself gets fired...what comes around goes around...I always say and it is true. They are unethical in every way. People are forced to listen to sales pitches and sign up for everything they can offer, because the perk of the day is gift cards, tv's, trips, you name it...all at the customers expense. I HATE THAT COMPANY SO MUCH....I SAW A GIRL WHO IS STILL EMPLOPYED THERE, SHE SAID SHE CRIES EVERY DAY....EVERY DAY.....THEY TREAT PEOPLE LIKE TRASH....I HOPE THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS..I HEAR THEY JUST LOST THE ENTIRE COUNTIES BUSINESS....HA HA...GOTTA LOVE IT....GO CABLE...GO CABLE...GO CABLE
I hate Verizon already and I don't even have full service yet! I ordered their Freedon Bundle package to include residential phone and DSL. Well, the phone service is fine but I still haven't had access to my DSL yet. Was supposed to be connected on November 1st but they screwed up my order and then set my DSL service date to November 14! Well, here it is, November 16 and still no DSL service. I've had the modem for 2 weeks now! I'm now sitting here waiting for a service technician to come and "fix" the problem. They expect me to sit at home from 8AM to 7PM! When I called to narrow the time down (sorry, but I have more things to do with my day than wait for Verizon) I was told they have no way of narrowing the time. I just have to sit and wait! And the worst part about this is that I was offered a job working at home for a customer service call center but I need DSL. Verizon is blowing this opportunity for me! And on top of it all they sent me 2 modems and now I have to take out my time and gas money to drive to UPS to return the second modem or I will be charged for it!!! I already want to change my DSL service to another company and I don't even have it yet!!

VERIZON IS THE WORST MOBILE PHONE COMPANY OUT THERE! Do not believe their advertising campaigns - "IT'S THE NETWORK"....yeah, It's the Network that ROBS YOU BLIND! They will find a way to charge you for everything, and will extend contracts based on upgrading your plans.... DID YOU HEAR THAT?! If you want to UPGRADE your plan, to make sure you have enough minutes, you are sucked into another two years of being ripped off from a service that isn't anymore reliable than it's competitors. I know this, as I have had AT&T, Sprint and Metro PCS.
When you see Verizon - RUN!
Not only does their cell service suck, I have attempted to get my ground service transferred to my new apartment and they haven't been able to get it to stay working. I have called a zillion times and nothing. I also set up DSL through them, they sent me 2 modems although they insist I only have 1 (I have a feeling I will get billed for 2). I can't use DSL w/out a groundline and whenever I call, it's like talking to someone who's braindead and is reading from a script. I have been told so many times I'm "with the wrong department", they transfer me to another department which is also the wrong department.
BEWARE OF VERIZON. THE WORSE CORPORATION I've ever dealt with. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL AROUND
Omigosh! You guys are SO right. This is the 2nd time I've been with Verizon. First time was a few years ago. Their call quality is great, but billing and Customer Service is AWFUL!
We left last time for billing and customer service reasons, and they started again...on our very first bill.
Our FREEDOM FROM VERIZON date is May 3. We're going to smash our phones to bits and video it on our new phones...I will never be a VZN customer again so long as I live!
Verizon's $99 bundle starts at $130 in Maryland.
My first bundle bill is $160 (advance billing scheme)
My security suite has not been working for five days now. While being "repaired", my start page was changed to "verizon central" and a verizon toolbar added to my damn browser all without my permission. The only difference between DSL and Fios is my bill. Upgrade they said.
I thought I was free and then they found a way to get me again. The charged me a termination fee after they agreed to waive it.

I'll join this blog! I just spent two hours with various customer service portals and didn't get a blasted thing resolved, except to remind myself why I hate being trapped into their service (b/c of my location). Why does it have to be so hard!
I HATE verizon too! I'm sick of being hit on by some pervy sales rep who talks me into buying a shit phone. AND I was led to believe that after the first year of my two year contract I would get $100 accredited to my account for a new phone, however, it was not explained to me that that would automatically update my account for a new two years. hooow kind of them to do that for me! assholes.
The good news is, they are getting their asses beaten by the iPhone and AT&T.
I hate Verizon, period. I pay my bill on time but one time I made a mistake with the amount by 3 cents, that right 3 fu**ing cents,
Guess what? I was charged $5.00 for late payment.... I called the Customer Service Representative and was greeted by high school dropout who absolutely had no clue how to even address a clients let alone trying to help. All she did was argue rather than trying ti resolve a genuine error on my part she was rude and no consideration whatsoever regardless of my length of service, How can they afford to lose customer on a daily bases beats me. In conclusion, Verizon is a company which specializes in "Rip Off".

I am a former employee who was, mercifully, terminated. Why was i terminated?? Because on some calls I didn't pitch every product (and there are about a dozen of them). Verizon is losing landlines by the millions and they are desperate. No one gives a damn that Verizon offers unlimited long distance, they all have cell phones. Customer service is nonexistent. One team coach even said to one of my fellow employees "I don't give a fuck about the customers, I want sales". The three month training is a complete joke, as it does nothing to prepare one for the actual job. You wanna know why the customer service rep you talk to seems so clueless?? It's because they've got a $20/hr job riding not on whether or not they can help you, but o9n what they can sell you. I know people there who've worked there for years who have to take medication just to get through the day. When I was "terminated" I felt the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders.

Verizon sucks monkey butt. In case you can't tell I loathe Verizon with a great and deep malevolence. I was in Michigan when the switch from Awesome Alltel to Viscous Verizon took place. I know that a great deal had been made with Alltel to sell, but they left their customers with a absolute horrible company who would have otherwise been scrambling to keep up with Alltel in a few years. After the switch, things were not ok as promised. Our connection, as well as that of others we know, became virtual crap. The connection would go from 5 bars to none while out side on the top floor of an apartment with no other visible interruptions on a otherwise sunny day while being on top of a hill in this apartment and standing still. My wife, my friends with verizon, and my phone all showed this problem from our apartment and many other locations in Michigan. With Alltel, we NEVER had crap connections at random. I also was sickened to see that in North Carolina, we get the same service. With alltel, you could also talk to a customer service rep in 5 minutes or less and take care of your troubles and end the phone call feeling like you were handled by caring knowledgeable professional. Any discrepancies, or questions were handled quickly with just one department (customer service). Verizon, who has been screwing with our phone plan about once every other month, takes an average of 15-25 minutes to handle a problem, then you are lucky if you are not passed around from one department to another then back again to the one you started with. We HAVE to worry now what stupid random charges are applied to our bills, where as with Alltel, they would never dream to throw random charges, promotions, roaming rates (on a national plan). I have had two bills that have had charges on them, for programs that I have not signed up for, but was told that Verizon AUTOMATICLY signed me up. We also, have to have the 20 minute long conversation with customer service (who puts you on hold for 17 minutes). Where as Alltel would handle the charges for that monthly bill. Not so with Verizon, where they have to send a long request to the billing department, then YOU CALL THEM after beating your brains into a perverial pulp with customer service to make sure that the bill was corrected by the billing department in 5 days and credited to your next monthly bill. Alltel had people who spoke english. Verizon may connect you to someone who gets irritated that you can't understand there native tongue in Africa, sometimes you get sent to a American, but you never know. We also have talked to Verizon 6 different times to let me be a USER to talk to their customer service(each time we are told I was added as an authorized user), and we do this because my wife can't stand them. We are looking at US Cellular as our next provider whom reminds me of Alltel in plans and service. Verizon inhales the crap coming out of a monkey butt.
"F*CK VERIZON"--that will be the motto on a t-shirt i plan to create just for myself b/c it clearly states my absolute and total disgust for this company. They have been nothing but condescending, deceitful, conniving con artists from day one. Right now, I refuse to pay the final bill due to the fact that they expect me to pay for service on a dead line. That's right, they claim they ended service recently but they're mistaken. Thank goodness, I had my cell phone (AT&T) or if my house caught fire, I wouldn't be able to call 911. I stated that even before my new provider worked on my landline, they could send a tech. to check out my claims. The one of several representatives I had to talk to said time had expired. The absolute icing on the cake had been her comment to me that I should've have CALLED THEM to report a problem with my service. I literally had to stare at the receiver for a second and realize that she was actually serious. The one thing that really irritates me is the transferring call game they love to play. "You called the wrong department." How about the fact that I was transferred over to you, assh*le (never aloud) so please connect me with someone who can actually help me. Their true vindictive nature surfaces in 'onced waived fees' suddenly being sent to collection agencies. A woman argued with me as to why they would receive a collection notice if Verizon said it had been credited. Thank goodness I retained the bill validating my point and mailed them a duplicate. Suck on that Verizon, b*tches. Duces
All in there own way -- very eloquently said! Here's my story ... 10 months ago -- a retail store tried to screw me. Lying that I qualified for buy 1 get 1 free ... the salesman said I would pay for both phones now but get a refund for one later. The refund never came. The retail store said there never was such a deal but took the return after I found out the refund was never going to come. During the return, somehow my numbers got switched! I lost my phone #! They had switched my broadband and my phone numbers. Insane. So I contacted the company. They took 2 months to get the issue straightened out with the retail store and then another month to get my money back. What a hassle. The worst part was that for the rest of the year -- my plan was messed up. They never canceled the screw up the retail store did - and even though I returned the equipment they kept charging me for equipment I no longer had. Recently, I called to disconnect one of our numbers and they said I had to pay an early termination fee. I've had the line over two years but when I returned the said phones a year earlier -- they kept those phones in the system and marked my contract as starting then. They wiped out the fact that I've had these phones for years. Apparently there are over 7 pages of notes on my case. Everytime I call another agent has to put me on hold for 10 minutes. And some of them don't understand what happened then. And still, problems from that first issue last year continue. I'm done with Verizon. I'm glad Sprint and Clear are offering great 4G plans at very good prices and Virgin is giving away their 3G broadband Wifi for only $40/mo for UNLIMITED GB. What a rip-off Verizon is. I'm glad to be a Verizon ex-customer. I predict in a few years Sprint and Clear will take over the lead from Verizon. Their service is so bad they just keep alienating people. John
i love Verizon. Try using any other carrier in a rural location.
Verizon just charged me 400 for the galaxy tab and the droid 2 i was told bout the galaxy tab charge then i get bill even tho i paid for the early upgrade which was was 100 i got another 200 dollar fee for the phone then i call and ask why its so high they said did i mail in the rebate i asked the dude who sold me the stuff before i left about the rebate and he said it wasnt one because i early upgraded
